9 year old "Rachmaninoff"
Completes First Grand Prix

'Rocky' showed his first Grand Prix
under 'S' judge Joan Humphrey. He finished both tests without mistakes. The
champagne was flowing afterward but there was even more celebration when we got
his scores: 72.9% the first day, 73.5% on the second. We were very excited!

Tantalus goes to Kentucky
Three Tantalus horses qualified for the finals of the 2007 Markel/USEF
National Young Horse Dressage Championships held in
Lexington, Kentucky. Two of our 6 year olds and one 4 year old survived
the rigorous selection procedures and made it to the Championship finals on
Sunday.

Amadeus (Accorado x Ramiro) was ridden by his adult amateur owner,
Dr. Carolyn Luther to a 12th place finish in the 6 year old finals. It's
especially impressive for an AA to compete against the 'big dogs' (aka
professionals) and make such a good impression. She will be showing him 4th
level and hopefully PSG by the end of 2008.
6 year old Redford (Riccione x Wenzel) was competing in the finals
for the second year in a row. He's trained and ridden by his owner, Dana
Fiore. The lovely pair finished 12th in 2006 and improved their standing to
9th for 2007. Dana is planning to compete him in
Florida next winter.

River Side Lady (Royal Diamond x Donnerhall) finished 3rd in the
finals of the 4 year old division under Debbie Hill. Owner Robbie Rice
brought a 'Perfect Pink Pony' contigent to Lexington to cheer Debbie and
'Berry' on (she's a very pinkish roan.) Their pink shirts and loud cheers
certainly set them apart from the crowd! Robbie plans take over the ride on
'Berry' for 2008. However, after such a high finish in the 4 year olds, she
may let Debbie try her luck with 'Berry' in the 5 year olds.
Stay tuned.
